Biography
Thank you for visiting my website. If you're here, you're likely considering my application to your company or organization. I'm a 28-year-old software engineer with four years of experience at Wostmann & Associates.
At Wostmann I worked as a contractor in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector I worked at the city, state, and federal levels of government, in the private sector I worked with oil and gas companies
Below I've provided a breakdown of every contract I worked during my time at Wostmann
Work History
At NOAA I worked on the NMFS Support Team. This included work on a web application called Porcupine, a desktop application called Alders, and various back end services used by both of the previously mentioned applications
These applications processed commercial fishing permits and information relating to them, Porcupine was the newer application of the two and was intended to eventually replace Alders, an older application which was nearing end of life. My work was primarily maintaining Alders and developing Porcupine
Responsibilities
- Developing new pages for porcupine using React
- Address end user issues reported via Jira board
- Perform Data fixes using PL/SQL Datagrip and Oracle
- Maintain existing Alders desktop application
- Maintain Existing Birt Reports, occasionally create new ones
- Maintain various Java backend Services used by both Alders and Porcupine
- Utilized, React, Java, IntelliJ, Datagrip, Birt Reports, Insomnia and PL/SQL
At DHSS I worked as a front end developer on an application called ICCIS which stood for Integrated Child Care Information Systems
This application was a C# .NET Webforms application, and had an outdated UI designed only to work with internet explorer. My work was updating the UI to be cross browser compatible
Responsibilities
- Modernizing UI
- Implementing new web pages according to client requests
- Providing support for any front end issues related to existing pages
- Utilized C#, ASP.NET Webforms, T-SQL
At the City of Matsu Borough I worked on reports related to city processes like tax-billing, assessments, and foreclosures
The worked started primarily with converting old crystal reports to SSRS reports for an application called Openforms. When the conversions where completed I was kept on for maintancence and creating new reports when needed
Responsibilities
- Conversion of Crystal Reports to SSRS
- Creating new reports at client request
- Implementing new stored procedures to gather data for new reports
- Optimizing existing stored procedures to improve report speed
- Utilized SSRS, SSMS, Microsoft Report Builder, and T-SQL
For Semco Oil and Gas, I worked as a software engineer to implement an urgent fix, that had left their ticketing system unusable. Their custom software was reliant on a 3rd party system sending an XML file through email
The thid party system changed owners, and implemented a change to their system without warning that made it so that instead of sending an xml file they now sent a plain text email which broke SEMCOs software designed to intake these emails
Responsibilities
- Built a C# console application to intake the plain text email
- Console app used XSLT to generate the old expected XML format
- Console app deleted plain text email upon succesful generation of XML file
- Console app then resent the email with the new XML file attached
- Semco Software then correctly processed the newly generated email
- Fix was a duck tape middleman solution due to urgency of request, had two weeks to implement
- Utilized C#, Windows Scheduler App, IMap, and XSLT
